I have a 1991 B7100 HST with 850 hours. It seems to run fine when first started up but after it runs for 20 minutes and warmed up, I cannot get maximum RPM and I looses power and quits. After I let it cool, it runs fine again for another 20 minutes. It does not smoke. I tried to clean the fuel filter but I cannot close the petcock. Should I disassemble the filter assembley ? Thanks Art. I changed the fuel filter and it seems to run a bit better. Where else should I check to improve power ? Should I just take it to the dealer for a tune-up ? Thanks in advance. Dan ....

You might try a fuel additive like power service. You might have gotten some bad fuel or some dirt contamination. ....

Dan, you might have a contamination problem from dirt or even water! Filling tanks from five gallon cans sometimes makes it difficult to keep the fuel clean and you might have some water there. Does it smoke and what color if it does? ....
